Julia is a Regulatory and Litigation Counsel in EMEA Legal (Europe, Middle East and Africa) team at Facebook. The team handles regulatory inquiries on ground-breaking issues relating to data privacy; as well as supporting precedent-setting and complex multi-national litigation on these issues.
Alongside her day job, Julia co-leads the Black [email protected] employee resource group in London, supporting and championing the voices and experiences of Black Women in the Facebook London community. She has also created a space for Black lawyers across EMEA and APAC to connect and is an active contributor to a number of DEI projects focussed on building an inclusive internal community at Facebook.
Before joining Facebook, Julia trained as a lawyer in-house at BT plc, qualifying into BT’s Major Commercial Litigation and investigations team. During her time at BT, she co-chaired the Ethnic Diversity Network, with a focus on amplifying the voices and talents within BT's racially diverse community and helped drive the introduction and implementation of BT's first ever Ethnicity Rapid Action Plan.
Outside of work, Julia has a passion for fitness and is training to become a personal trainer. She is also learning how to swim and welcomes any and all advice on achieving her goal of swimming in the ocean.
