Michelle Thompson-Dolberry

Vice President, Senior HR Business Partner, American Express

Michelle Thompson-Dolberry serves as Vice President, Senior HR Business Partner for Technology, Enterprise Digital & Data Solutions and Enterprise Transformation. 


Most recently, Michelle served as Vice President, Strategic Relationships, Inclusion and Diversity (I&D) and was responsible for partnering closely with our HR Business Partners and Business Unit (BU) leaders to support their diverse pipelines, operationalizing enterprise I&D investments across the business, and elevating our external presence by leveraging partnerships to amplify our brand and commitment to underrepresented groups.


In 2019, Michelle re-joined American Express. She worked on Culture, Diversity, and Inclusion efforts. She served as VP, Global Campus, Diversity and Corporate/Business Function Recruiting, where she developed a U.S. diversity recruitment strategy and led the creation of diverse slate guidelines to engage a pipeline of candidates from underrepresented groups. She also built a global framework for our campus recruiting efforts and led creation of the virtual campus summer internship program. 


Michelle first joined Amex in 2003, serving as a Human Resources Business Partner and in a variety of business-focused marketing roles.  After a stint at JPMorgan Chase where she was Lead of Chase Campus Pipeline Development and Head of the JPMC Black Scholars Strategy.
