Sherry Dzinoreva serves as Director of Policy Programs, Africa, Middle East and Turkey for Facebook where she oversees program development across the region. Over the years, she has worked in various facets of the digital industry, with a primary focus on skills development and education. Before joining Facebook she served as Program Director for Digify Africa, a program that saw over 70,000 young people trained in digital skills across Sub-Saharan Africa. She was also the co-founder of the first Social Media Week Johannesburg, offering free and accessible workshops on digital innovation to a mix of audiences across the city. Prior to transitioning into the tech space, Dzinoreva spent 12 years working in the media industry heading communications and marketing for such organisations as Complex Media, TRACE magazine and Black Girls Rock!. In 2010, she left the industry to obtain a Masters degree in International Media Studies at Goldsmiths, University of London. Dzinoreva is driven by her passion for building innovative programs and experiences designed to bridge cultural and opportunity gaps around the world with a focus on technology and digital education to empower, connect and build the next generation of leaders.
